Reverse: Standard, beaded to four sides, containing 'TOTII' legend, crosses below, tufa above.  Measurements: Diameter: 10.56mm Thickness: 1.65mm Weight: 1.24g

An incomplete Early Medieval early silver sceat. Description: Primary Phase Series BI, Type 27b, ( Abramson Theme 2; Group16; Variety 10) dating to c. AD 685 - 700, struck in south-east England. The coin has an uneven break with the loss of approximately a third of the flan. Obverse: Diademed bust, right, shoulder breaking beaded circle. Reverse: Bird on cross pattee with annulet at end of each horizontal arm. Measurements: Diameter: 12.5mm; thickness: 1.4mm; weight: 0.78g. Discussion:  As in Abramson (2012, p 82) and North, No.126.

Obverse: Bird standing right on a cross pattée; small cross (?) before; annulets either side of the cross; within a beaded serpent circle (the serpent's mouth at 6 o'clock); vestigial legend in margin. Reverse: Crude diademed head right, within a beaded circle; vestigial legend in margin. The coin has a diameter of 12.00mm, a thickness of 1.70mm and a weight of 1.17 grams.

A short triangular section is missing from the flan edge.
