A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) copper-alloy pin (c. 800-c. 870). The faceted head of the pin is polyhedral or cuboid and is decorated on each side with four ring-and-dot motifs. These are in a lozenge formation. The upper face has a single ring-and-dot motif. The motif on the upper surface is not as well defined as those on the sides. There is a collar between the head and shaft. The bent shaft is circular in cross-section and diminishes in diameter from the collar to the blunt point. This pin has a green patina overall. A fragment of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) probable cruciform brooch (c. 410-c. 600). This fragment is zoomorphic, the lower half taking the form an animal-head mask. The upper half of the leg has horizontal ridges, one close to the break, a fainter one below and further below three parallel ones together. Below the later ridges the sides flare to four lobes in a square shape. These may represent eyes and eyebrows. Below the eyes, the width narrows and is bevelled at the front. The plain flat head (13.9mm x 11.8mm x 2.0mm) is rectangular in plan with rounded corners. The bow is strongly arched in side profile and is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. The front is in the form of a crouched beast in Ringerike-style facing left in profile. It has a long beak or snout and the body encloses an oval opening, 9.5 x 8.3mm. The rear face is plain.
