Early Medieval to Medieval copper alloy single loop buckle. It is a D shape, with an indented bow, in plan, and is sub triangular in section with the thickest part being the bow. The outer face is undecorated but has a pin rest at the indented centre of the bow The pin has been lost. The strap bar has been intentionally reduced in thickness. It shares similarities with Whitehead's No 48 and 118 but they are not close matches. Dates from c410 to c1500 AD, but the size and shape suggest it is most likely to be Early Medieval..

Probable mid Saxon (AD c700 to c850), or may be late Iron Age, rim sherd. External black burnishing, with an external groove halving the thickness of the rim, and a broken off rib or flange immediately below that. Red brown body fabric with grey black reduced core, slightly hackly, with fine well sorted inclusions, it appears to have been tempered with sand. It may have been wheel thrown.
