A copper alloy object that could be an incomplete polyhedral multi-faceted pin Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) hair pin dating to the late 8th to the early 10th century AD or could relate to a later more modern object. It has a cuboid-faceted head very corroded and no decoration is discernible. Where the head joins the shaft there appears to be a collar consisting of a circumferential raised line. The shaft is not circular in cross-section and appears to have a square section which could indicate that it is later. The length is 18mm, the width is 9mm and the weight 2.18g.

An incomplete copper alloy Early Medieval plate brooch probably dating to the ninth century and of Continental, Carolingian, origin.. The plate is rectangular in shape, with a solid raised border running around the edge. The brooch is divided into three panels depicting a wolf flanked by two birds. An Early Medieval Anglo-Saxon copper alloy zoomorphic mount or strap-end fragment, dating to around the 8th or 9th century AD. The mount is decorated with a zoomorphic wolf or dragon and the upper part is broken and missing. The decoration on the front face was possibly once inlaid but none of the inlay survives. The back face of the strap end is flat and undecorated. The length is 28mm; width is 24mm, thickness 2mm and the weight 17.16g.

Lead alloy Early Medieval sword pommel probably Petersen type X dating 950-1000AD. A rectangular opening in the base would have housed the tang of the grip, and a hole through the hump would have been for the end of the tang with a cap or rivet on the end. The lead is patinated and scratched. The lead pommel exhibits the staining from gilding and appears to depict a bird with folded back wings. This item was originally identified as a fragment of late Iron Age torc, but seems more likely (from the photograph) to be a large separately cast side knob from a cruciform brooch headplate. The description originally said that the object was made from copper alloy and iron, with the surface possibly silvered or tinned.
