An Early Medieval sceatta (or as it's properly termed, an 'early silver penny'). A Series N Type 41b var., cf. no. 476. Southern England, c. AD 710-25. O: two standing figures facing each other with a cross in between. R: curling creature, left, with head turned back. The diameter is 10mm and the weight 0.94g. An incomplete copper-alloy brooch of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 400 - 600. Probably a small-long type brooch. The head is sub-rectangular with much of the original edge being lost to old, worn breaks. From the centre of the lower edge of the head a D-sectioned broken arched bow extends terminating in a worn break. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The length is 64mm, the width is 20mm, thickness 6mm and the weight 8.48g.

An incomplete copper-alloy early medieval (middle Anglo-Saxon) disc or 'cogwheel' brooch. The brooch has a flat circular plate with openwork and moulded decoration. This consists of a central cross with a domed lozenge in its centre and short arms, each expanding into two opposing lobes terminating at the edge of a surrounding circle. This item was originally identified as a fragment of late Iron Age torc, but seems more likely (from the photograph) to be a large separately cast side knob from a cruciform brooch headplate. The description originally said that the object was made from copper alloy and iron, with the surface possibly silvered or tinned. Probably an early Medieval sleeve clasp of Hines Form B20. Cast copper alloy with staining from gilding on its face, on underside of the clasp is the remains of the hook which appears to be a broken tab possibly bent rather than an eye fixing or hoop. There does not appear to be any circular attachment projections but there does appear to be two broken attachment holes. Copper alloy harness mount, Anglo-Saxon Style II, Find of note It dates to the late 6th or early 7th century AD. It is likely that this object would have decorated the bridle/breast harness of the horse. The upper surface exhibits skilfully executed 'chip carved' decoration in Style II. The surface of the zoomorphic band has been heavily gilded. The copper alloy survives in a very good condition as does the gilding which is only evident on the front surface.
