An incomplete early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) hooked tag. It consists of a sub-triangular piece of sheet metal. There is significant damage to all three sides and corners, but there appears to have been a circular attachment hole through each upper corner originally, one of which is now incomplete and the other missing along with the rest of the corner. There is a rounded break across the lower end where a hook would have projected originally. The outer face is decorated with four very small circular holes arranged in a lozenge shape, each with an incised ring surrounding it. This bel…

An incomplete copper alloy early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) hooked tag. The outer face of the plate is decorated with at least two concentric circular grooves (partially obscured by corrosion) and there are small circular holes through its centre and two through the upper end. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded. Read (2008, 15, no.63) illustrates a similar example, which he places within his early medieval Class…

An incomplete probably early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) hooked tag. It has a roughly triangular plate with a triangular hole through the middle, slightly off-centre. The plate narrows to a damaged point at its lower end. Although unusually simple in form and lacking the typical pair of attachment holes, its form suggests that it may be a hooked tag of early medieval date. Read (2008, 14, no.53) illustrates a similar example with a single circular hole through the centre.
