Cast copper alloy tip of a 11th/12th century strap end. It is sub-oval in plan. There are two oval preforations on either side of the strap end with three raised mouldings in between the preforations. The outer two mouldings curve arround the preforations and terminate in each corner where the object has broken. The central linear moulding runs in a straight line from the tip to the broken end. The reverse of the object is smooth with no decoration.

Cast copper alloy pin dating to the Early Medieval period, (400-1066AD). The object has a polyhedral head below which is a circular transverse collar. The shaft is oval in cross-section and terminates in a modern break. The head is decorated with a large ring-and-dot on the centre of each face. Above and below which are two more ring-and-dot decorations on the side facets of the head. The top of the head is lozenge shaped. Traces of gilding can be seen on the head of the pin. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition.

Cast copper alloy fragment of a zoomorphic stirrup terminal. The object is irregular in plan and consists of an arched back with a projecting terminal. The projection is solid and sub-rectangular in cross-section with a rounded tip. The arched back is hollow and would have been filled with solder to take the corner of the iron stirrup. A similar example is fig 4f, FRG Datasheet 24, Williams (1997). A few small fragments of dark green patina remain on the object. The fragment is badly worn.

Cast copper alloy pin dating to the Early Medieval period, (400-1066). The pin head is globular, but flattened on top and has four irregular faceted sides. The facets taper to a ring collar at the junction with the shaft. The shaft is sub-circular in cross-section. The lower portion and the point of the pin have broken off and are missing. At the top of the object is a ring-and-dot decoration. The dot is infilled with royal blue enamel. The remains of blue enamel can also be seen in the groove above and below the collar. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition.

Incomplete cast copper alloy strap union dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The piece is asymmetrical with a moulding along the central shaft nearer one eyelet than the other. It is D-shaped in cross-section. There are three lobes around the complete eyelet suggesting a cross design. The other eyelet is incomplete. The reverse of the object is flat with a slight depression at the reverse of the moulding. The object has a dark brown patina. A similar example on the database is NMGW-A7BF76. Similar examples can be found on p.62, Read, (2001).

A small cast lead weight containing a copper-alloy Styca, of Aethelred II, (c.840-858AD). The reverse of the coin reads EDILRED REX, placing it in Pirie's Phase C which can be either first or second reign. Due to the good condition of the coin it is likely that it was not very old when pressed into the lead. It probably dates from the mid-late 9th century. Similar examples of coins embedded in weights on the database are LIN-3DFD27 YORYM-8054B2. Similar examples can be found on p19, Biggs and Withers, (2000).

An inscribed stone dating to the Early-Medieval period. The stone is sub-trapezoidal in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It is incomplete, the edges are worn and it now has a greyish white patina. The current extremity measurements of the stone are 15.5 cm (height), 23 cm (length) and 7 cm (thickness).
