A copper-alloy stirrup strap mount dating to the eleventh century AD. The mount is of Williams' Class A Type 1 type being flat and sub-triangular in plan with a perforated loop at the apex and a right-angled flange at the base. The flange possesses a central circular perforation which is filled with iron corrosion products. The upper surface possesses integrally-cast decoration in the form of two opposing entwined beasts. The strap mount measures 45mm in length, a maximum of 31mm in width and 8mm in thickness.

A fragment of a copper-alloy stirrup strap mount dating to the eleventh century AD. The fragment comprises a portion of the now trapezoidal plate which extends at one end to a tri-lobed projection with circular perforation. The other end is broken. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with an incised pattern filled with niello. It is not possible to discern the nature of the pattern. The underside of the plate is plain. The fragment measures 29mm in length, a maximum of 23mm in width and 3mm in thickness.

A copper-alloy stirrup strap mount dating to the eleventh century AD. The strap mount possesses a lozengiform plate with integrally-cast saltire cross decoration, creating four lozengiform depressions. The upper two of the depressions possess oval perforations. At one end, the plate extends to a semi-circular projection with circular perforation. At the other, there extends at right angles a small backward facing projection which is completely coated in iron corrosion products. The strap mount measures 44mm in length, 27mm in width and a maximum of 6mm in thickness. It weighs 13.87g.

A worn copper-alloy Early-Medieval (Anglo-Scandinavian) stirrup-strap mount dating to the eleventh century AD. The mount is of flat and sub-pentagonal in plan, having an apex loop at the top and three projecting lobes on each side. The upper surface bears an incised design which is now extremely worn. An early medieval stirrup mount, in cast copper alloy. The mount comprises a flat approximately trapezoidal plate. At the narrow end of the plate is a circular perforation which is filled with accretions. At the wider end, there are two further circular perforations. This end also has a flange extending at right angles to the plate on its underside. The rest of the underside is plain. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with an incised abstract design. A similar example [V221] is illustrated in N. Mills (2001) Saxon and Viking Artefacts.
