An Anglo-Scandinavian gold finger ring dating to the ninth or tenth century AD. The ring possesses a gold sheet bezel which is lozengiform in plan, which narrows to form a rectangular-section wire at each end. The ends of the wires are hooked, showing that they would originally have been twisted together. The bezel is punch-decorated with a lozengiform pattern of six triangles with central dots, surrounded by a circumferential band of punched rectangles with two dots. The underside is plain. A gold bracteate of C type dating to the fifth or sixth centuries AD. It consists of a flat circular disc of gold sheet, 36mm in diameter, which has been folded almost in half, then one half's edge has been folded back on itself twice (forming a zig-zag in cross-section). The suspension loop has been torn off, taking a small part of the edge with it. A small strip of gold, measuring 20mm in length and 2mm in width. The strip is slightly curved and is hemispherical in section. The strip has three, circular perforations at regular intervals along its length, presumably to attach it to another object. The function of the object is uncertain although it is likely to have been decorative.
