A copper-alloy pin dating to the Early Medieval period (AD 700 to 900), The pin possesses an onion-shaped head decorated with ribs and grooves. Where the head meets the stem, the stem is decorated with four diagonal circumferential grooves. The stem does not taper but terminates in a rounded point and it is possible given its short length that it has been reworked from a longer pin. The pin measures 53mm in length, the stem has a diameter of 2mm, the head a diameter of 6mm. A fragment of an early medieval brooch, possibly of the square headed variety dating to the sixth or seventh centuries AD. The fragment is decorated with an anthropomorphic male face with long, gently curving eyebrows which join broad triangular nose. The nose has two incised transverse lines at its base. The eyes are large and almost lentoidal, full rounded cheeks, open oblong mouth, C-shaped ears, moustache and part of full beard on surviving side. A fragment of a copper-alloy early Anglo-Saxon cruciform or small-long brooch. The fragment comprises part of the head plate and bow. The head plate is rectangular, although none of its original edges survive. It possesses a rectangular central panel, the margins of which are stamped with lines of crescents and triangles. A copper alloy ninth century strap end, probably of Thomas's Class A, Type 2. The strap end is flat and tongue shaped tapering to a rounded terminal. At the attachment end, the plate splits in two to accomodate the strap. The attachment plates are damaged. The upper surface of the strap end is decorated with an incised interlace pattern. The incisions appear to be filled with degraded niello. The underside of the strap end is plain. The strap end has a dark green patina with patches of orange. The strap end has a length of 40mm and a maximum width of 13mm.

The head plate has a decorated central panel. There is a single ring and dot at the centre of the central panel. A cast copper alloy strap end, dating to the medieval period. The strap end is rectangular with a rounded terminal. At the attachment end, it splits into two to accomodate the leather or fabric strap. Two rivet holes are visible on the underside of the plate to secure the strap end. The upper surface of the strap end is decorated with a central vertical moulded rib and marginal moulded ribs. The ends of the ribs protrude slightly beyond the body of the strap end. An early medieval stirrup mount, in cast copper alloy. The mount comprises a flat approximately trapezoidal plate. At the narrow end of the plate is a circular perforation which is filled with accretions. At the wider end, there are two further circular perforations. This end also has a flange extending at right angles to the plate on its underside. The rest of the underside is plain. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with an incised abstract design. A similar example [V221] is illustrated in N. Mills (2001) Saxon and Viking Artefacts.

Acast copper-alloy fragment of a cruciform brooch of Anglo-Saxon tradition, dating c. 475-600. The fragment comprises part of the head of the brooch. The head is very corroded and only a small part of the original surface survives, bearing two stamped ring-and-dot in a vertical line, almost certainly a border decoration of a central panel, identifying the brooch as cruciform. A fragment of a copper alloy Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, dating to the fifth or sixth centuries AD. The fragment comprises the foot of the brooch which is zoomorphic in form. The eyes and nostrils of the animal, likely to be a horse are picked out as moulded raised decoration. On the underside of the fragment, there is a scar marking the position of the catchplate which does not survive. The fragment measures 27mm in length and 18mm in width. It is poorly preserved with a green patina and is flaking in places.
