It is formed from a lead body that is square in form and rectangular in section, relatively well-preserved although with some signs of post-depositional damage. Set into the upper surface is a decorative silver gilt mount, which is square in form with a raised rim that surrounds chip carved and gilded interlaced decoration of Insular Art style.
