Copper alloy strap end 43mm long and 11mm wide. The object has a bulging oblong shape which terminates in a beasts head. The head, which forms about a third of the whole object, is made up of two sub square ears which are tucked behind the head. Next a ridge on the head tapers into a v shape. At the narrowest point the eyes are shown as holes on each side of this. The ridge then tapers out again to form a triangular snout. Above the beasts head is a panel with a dotted border covering the remainder of the object. This panel contains a Trewhiddle style quadraped beast on its hind legs …

The mount is sub rectangular and begins with an apex loop at the end of a thick rod which is 10mm high, 7mm wide and 5mm thick. early medieval copper alloy object, 22mm long, 12mm wide and 14mm high. The object is roughly sub rectangular, its upper surface curves downwards at each side. The object is decorated with almond shaped eyes which have small rounded animal ears behind them, placed towards the top of the object. Behind the ears there is a v shaped dip and the object curves downwards, giving the shape of a head. The underside of the object has a deep semi-circular groove cut out of it where the object would have wrapped around something, possibly a stirrup. The style would suggest an Anglo-Scandinavian date.

Anglo-Scandinavian Copper alloy harness fitting, 47mm long and 35mm wide. This object is roughly rectangular, with one edge slightly wider and it has a cut out in the centre. It is incomplete with traces of breakage on its lower edge. The object is decorated with lines, some curved and some straight. The design also creates bulges on the outer surface. It is difficult to make out the design, but the object as a whole is very similar to a Scandinavian cheek piece on display at the British Museums treasure exhibition.

Part of a copper alloy Anglo-Saxon Cruciform brooch, 57mm long and 46mm wide. The foot of the brooch is missing (old break) as is the left knob which appears to have been lost recently, you can see from the one remaining that it is weakened along the edge of the headplate and a crack is forming which explains the loss. The brooch is quite crudely cast with very simple angular decoration. The knobs have an indented line and a further incised line across their bases. The headplate has traces of decoration, in the form of a line of cutaway triangles running vertically up the plate. The r…

Copper alloy object, 44mm long and 12mm wide. The object has a curved end which looks like a broken off hook, about 10mm long and 3mm wide. This joins a circular body about 6mm thick, which is solid for about 8mm. The object begins to widen at this point and has two large rectangles cut out of each side. After these the object terminates in a circle about 4mm thick, at one side this protrudes lengthways and sideways forming a flared semi circle. This was obviously used to hold something, perhaps a strap? It could date to Saxon or Medieval periods.

Bone counter or gaming piece, 18mm in diameter and 10mm high at widest part. The object is circular and has a faint and roughly fashioned recessed edge. viewed from the side it is wedge shaped, though this appears to be a result of its rough manufacture, rather than a deliberate action. The piece could be Anglo-saxon as bone was commonly used for gaming pieces.

Copper-alloy knob from an early Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, 20.5mm long and 13mm wide. It consists of a hollow dome 10mm in diameter and 4mm high, attached to a flat rectangular part 10mm long and 13mm wide. This has a raised border on its upper and lower edges, and in between is an indented plate which has a possible iron rod through its centre, probably part of the pin bar. It therefore appears to be a detachable knob from a cruciform brooch, and dates to the late fifth or early sixth century.
