Rectangular sheet cu alloy, male section with a hook on the front. The left side has a stamped line running down its length, the end of the right side is missing, punched dots running around the edge, serrated back edge. Helen Geake writes: From the images, this appears to be an incomplete hook-piece from a copper-alloy wrist-clasp of Hines’s Form B16. One end has a transverse groove running slightly aslant across the whole width of the clasp-half. The other end does not have a corresponding groove, and so may be incomplete (it is slightly shorter than the other end). The rear …

Probably a fragment form the bottom section of a square headed brooch. Eyes are visible in the centre with three flanking grooved lines, with a sub-triangular nose. Large amount of iron corrosion on the reverse with a possible iron rectangular strip that may have been an attachment fitting that was added to the artefact later or it could be where it was resting on iron. Looks as if the artefact was deliberately cut.
