An Early Medieval copper-alloy stirrup mount, dating to c.AD 1000 - 1100. Williams (1997) Class A,Type 9. The stirrup is sub-trapezoidal in plan and rectangular in section. The upper edge exhibits a projecting lobe with a central rivet hole for attachment. Below is an anthropomorphic facing mask with recessed eyes of differing shapes, a central moulded trapezoidal nose and two transverse mouldings indicating the mouth. A cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon sleeve clasp, dating to c.AD 475 - 575. The clasp is the hookpiece, having an externally protruding loop. The loop is rectangular in plan. The plate is also rectangular in plan and divided into two areas, a raised area and a flat area, this terminates in a scalloped edge (comprised of four scallops). An early medieval copper alloy Anglo-Scandinavian stirrup, dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The stirrup is sub-triangular in plan and L-shaped in section.The front of the stirrup is decorated possibly with a single interlaced beast whose head is facing downwards to the left. The beast interlaces with lobe-ended tendrils. In each corner of the stirrup is a circular hole, the lower left of which is damaged and elongated. A late Early Medieval copper-alloy strap fitting, dating to c.AD 1000 - 1100. The strap end is of Thomas Class E, Type 1. It is complete and tongue shaped in plan, rectangular in section. The rounded end terminates in a protruding knop.
