Fragment of an Early Medieval Irish penannular brooch, silver gilt bearing incised decoration consisting of double spiral, a zone of double chevron ribs set within two ribs and a number of gently rounded plain panels. The back is flat and undecorated. This fragment is best paralleled by two plates fixed to the back of the brooch from Killamery, Co. Kilkenny (Youngs, 1989, 99-100, Catalogue Number 80). Silver hooked tag, oval head 12.9 x 11.4mm decorated with a cross executed with rocked tracer and following the line of crossing arcs. Silver pinhead (probably) in the form of a sitting bird. Wings folded against body and defined by a deep groove, their upper surface bears stamped decoration consisting of a medial line of X impressions, a line of round impressions and the edges marked by triangular impressions the details of all being lost to corrosion. the head is small and neat with a fowl-like beak. A middle Anglo-Saxon silver pin head, now damaged, its shaft now truncated to a length of 6.4mm. The head is balloon-shaped (biconical with a median band) and separated from the shaft by a small collar. Its surface is covered with small tooling facets. This pin is of a type known to have been in use in the Middle Saxon period, c. AD 700-900. Balloon-headed pins and related types were common finds on sites such as Whitby Abbey, Yorks. which was abandoned following Viking raids during the late 860s (Peers and Radford, 1943, Fig. 14).

Silver ingot, boat-shaped with a D shaped section, now truncated with, apparently only one half present . Hackly fracture, surface rough. Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content for the ingot of 82% other elements detected were lead (approximately 13%) and copper.
