A silver Early Medieval penny (or 'sceat'), likely of Series E, dating to c. AD700 - 765. Obverse is a quilled curved figure with a triangular head, pellet for eye. Pellets below head. Reverse is a beaded standard containing 4 bars (beads on end of bars) and 6 pellets; 3 above and below a central pellet in an annulet.
