An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from an Anglo-Scandinavian bridle cheekpiece of Williams' type 1, dating c. 1000-1100. The fragment is broadly triangular in plan, consisting one side of the cheekpiece's lower plate. Broken irregularly along its longest side, the lower edge of the fragment is heavily lobed, while the terminal demonstrates three small circular knops. An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from an Anglo-Scandinavian bridle cheekpiece of Williams' type 2, dating c. 1000-1100. The fragment is broadly triangular in plan, consisting an upper sub-rectangular (and rectangular sectioned) element with a notch in one edge that transitions into a plano-convex sectioned tapering projection which terminates in a prominent circular knop. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Anglo-Scandinavian stirrup strap-mount dating to the late Early Medieval period, c. 1000-1100 AD. It corresponds to Williams' class A, type 9, being broadly trapezoidal in plan with a convex front and slightly dished rear face. The upper edge of the mount demonstrates a broken centrally-perforated projecting lobe, below which the main body of the mount takes the form of a forward-facing anthropomorphic mask, achieved through moulded decoration.
