Fragment of a Late Saxon Anglo Scandinavian copper alloy zoomorphic harness/bridle cheek piece dating to the period c. AD 1020 - 1100. Only one projecting arm remains. It exhibits two old breaks, indicating the position of two missing radiating arms. The remaining fragment is in the form of the head and neck of a sinuous animal, possibly a dragon, with a prominent four-pointed crest at the top of the head and an open mouth with projecting tongue. Incomplete Late Saxon bridle bit link dating to the period c. AD 1000 - 1100. One end exhibits a knobbed loop on a short shank with an off-centre oval boss, the reverse of which is hollow. On the other side of the boss is an oval loop worn through. See: Williams, D, 2007, p. 4, fig. 5.
