A fragment of a gold ingot, possibly Bronze Age - Early Medieval in date, 2000BC-AD.1100. It has been broken at the top leaving a jagged edge. The outside surface has a faceted appearance from where it has been hammered into shape. The ingot is a flattened oval in cross section. The dating of gold ingots is difficult, there is a complete example with similar faceting DENO-938F3D, that was put through the Treasure process as 2005 T392. This was dated to the Early Medieval period, AD.900-1100. Gold ingot, while not as common in the 10th-11th century as silver, are traditionally ascri…

An incomplete, copper alloy, Early Medieval, zoomorphic, strap end, AD.800-1100. The object is formed of three sections, the uppermost being the attachment point, pierced by a single rivet hole. This is damaged and so only half of the rivet hole remains, upon either side of which are two lobes. This section of the piece tapers down until it meets a transverse double collar. Below this double collar is the midsection of the piece, this is undecorated, though seems to have two faint ridges running down either side.
