A complete, copper alloy, early medieval, key, AD.700-1100. The key has a circular loop with a projecting knop at the apex opposite the shank of the piece. The shank is short 10.08mm, in length and has a hollow end. The bit of the key projects at a right angle to the shank and is rectangular with three transverse grooves on one side and a notch on the front edge. The whole object is worn and has a green surface patina.
