A complete Early Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy buckle possibly dating from AD 950-1650. The buckle is cast. The buckle is a double looped oval shape with a pointed zoomorphic terminal, probably a birds head. The terminal is crude and in the form of a forward facing animal head. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The spear has a slender leaf-shaped blade with a corrugated cross section and a welded socket with scribed lines encircling the point of the transverse rivet at the mouth.
