An cast copper-alloy buckle with integral plate possibly of late roman or early-medieval date. Description: The buckle has a single, narrow ovae.g.l loop. The integral plate is attached at the opposite side with a clear hole for the pin. The plate is however broken so it is unclear as to its original form. The reverse is hollow creating a lip around the edge of the plate and buckle. It has an even mid-green patination. Measurements; 35.7mm wide, remaining length 15mm, 3.5mm thick and 6.7g in weight. An unusually large and robust cast copper-alloy pin with an expanded terminal body, possibly from a buckle of early medieval or high-medieval date. Description: The pin has a shield-shaped base from which projects a long bevelled tongue, which curves downward at the terminal to end in a lightly pointed tip. The back is plain with an integral binding point at the back of the base possibly to attach it to the now missing frame which remains only as a stub. A heavily worn and corroded cast copper-alloy D-shaped buckle frame with integral plate and Borre style zoomorphic decoration, dating c. late 9th-11th century. Description: The frame has a roughly elongated D-shape in plan with a pin rest at the outer edge is a stylised animal head. An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle frame early Medieval c. 400-700. Marzinzik 2003, 23, Class I.5 Description: Ooval with a flat underside, rounded outer edge and angled inner edge. Slight swelled towards the outer edge with transverse ribs. The udnerside has slight casting flaw int he form of a tourgh along it centre. The buckles surface is heavily pitted and corroded and it has a light-mid green patination. Measurements: 20.28mm long, 27.95mm wide, 7.83mm thick and 11.52g in weight.

A pair of cast silver buckle loops, found in close association with each other, dating to the late 5th -6th centuries. A large complete cast copper alloy buckle frame of early-medieval date, Marzinzik type 5a (2003, 23). The buckle is sub-D-shaped in plan with a chunky circular section. The tongue is mostly missing from the tongue/strap bar which has substantial iron corrosion around around it, likely remains of the tongue. The strap bar is minimal and and not deeply inset.
