Head of a copper alloy 8th century Anglo-Saxon disc headed pin, probably part of a tripple linkled pin set. The head and part of the shank survive in good condition. The head is round and flat with decoration on one side. The object dates to c.AD 720 - 800 The decoration consists of a cross defined by two incised lines at each edge. This cross describes four quadrants that also have inscribed decoration that cannot be identified as coherent symbols; although there is some symetry.
