A possible Early Islamic coin of the 8th or 9th century.
The inscription is in Arabic, the Quranic shahada or kalima, with the name of Allah/God recognisable on one side, and Muhammad rasul Allah (= Muhammad is the Messenger of God) on the other side.

Silver sceatta 11mm in diameter. The reverse is close to series W. Michael Metcalf writes that it is a scarce variety of which only two others are known, this being a new sub variety of these two.
spots of green corrosion indicate this is poor silver.

Fused group of three Anglo-Saxon silver pennies of the 10th century, with the broken remains of at least three further pennies adhering. Weighs 7.16g. One face of two of the coins is visible: (i) Imitation of Edward the Elder (901-924), two-line type (HTI), DNAI [o]/ [oMoED]. Same rev die as SCBI 26, no.183 (Morley St Peter, Norfolk hoard) (ii) Imitation probably of Edward the Elder, circular obverse reads +[ ] VVERFZIT
