A stirrup-strap mount of early-Medieval date (AD 1000-1100). It is a 'Sub-triangular Class A mount' according to Williams (1997), broadly fitting his Type 11 in terms of its overall shape, particularly the apex loop and the flange, but is decorated with a coiled animal rather than the typical lion. Therefore, its decoration more closely matches those of Type 10 mounts. The stirrup-strap mount is 57.60mm long, 34.15mm wide and 3.35mm thick throughout. It is sub-triangular and has a trilobed apex (14.90mm long by 15.80mm wide) which is perforated to create a loop. There is another pe…

A stirrup-strap mount of early-Medieval date (AD 1000-1100). It is of Williams's (1997) 'Trapezoidal Class B mounts' and fits with Type 1 Group 3. This identification is based on the arrangement of the apertures, the number and position of the animal heads, and the overall shape. The base edge, with its flange, is missing. The single upper fixing hole is also missing. When complere would have been roughly pentagonal in shape. There are three symmetrically placed projecting animal heads arranged in a triangle with two above and one below. The apertures are arranged symmetrically in …

A copper alloy and gilt Early-medieval (AD 450-550) Saucer brooch, missing its pin and the curl of the catchplate. It measures 27.90mm in diameter, is 5.50mm thick and weighs 7.70g. The brooch has been decorated with multiple motifs. The decoration takes the form of a central circle surrounded by another circle with four equally spaced straight lines extending outwards to a large circle just inside the rim. There are segments of another circle (or possibly two) within that that are separated by other decorative elements. The 'saucer' rim extends upwards and outwards to a height …

A possibly incomplete copper-alloy early-medieval (AD c1050-c1100) possible stirrup terminal. It is similar in shape and style to other stirrup terminals but is quite small, measuring only 24.60mm x 7.45mm x 6.45mm weighing 3.14.
