An early-medieval copper-alloy strap-end, classified as Thomas's (2003, 2) Class A, Type 2 (probably geometric style), surviving well. This would date the artefact to around the 9th century AD. The strap-end is flat in profile. The plate widens very slightly from the attachment end to a widest point at around the mid-point of the plate, not including the terminal; it can be described as shallowly convex, or bowed.
