A tubular weight made by the rolling of a rectangle of cast lead sheet of thickness 1.5mm, either around a former or around the selvedge of a net, secured by a butted join of its edges. The aperture has a diameter of 5mm. Patinated. Weights of this form have long been used to weight fishing tackle. A large collection was discovered in a late medieval boat near Blackfriars Bridge. Cylindrical weight made up of two discoid lead weights superimposed and joined by eight or nine domed iron studs driven into the upper disc, spots of ferrous corrosion on the underside may show where the points of two protruded. Patinated overall. The form is comparable to that of early Medieval weights with embedded objects, and the height is approximately twice the diameter.
