VICTORIA AVGGG; Victory seated right, inscribing shield; to right, reversed barred-rho Mintmark: * -//CONOB W. Hahn, Money of the Incipient Byzantine Empire, Vol II, no. 24a British Museum Catalogue no. 290. The only semissis of this period to be found in Britain. As it was minted in Sicily, it is quite possible that it arrived as a result of trade via the Straits of Gibraltar or the River Garonne.
