Cast copper alloy blade from a palstave or Middle Bronze Age flanged axe, sub-triangular in plan and sub-rectangular in section, tapering to the blade terminal. The blade is narrow tapering and the axe is narrow and unlooped and the butt is broken. The axe has a well defined, rounded stop-ridge on both sides rising at right angles to the septum. The side flanges are too damaged to allow definition of their shape or height. The blade is narrow and trapezoidal, widening gently to the cutting edge, with no added flare to the tips. The object is in fair condition with a brown patina…

Flint fragment possibly utilised as a thumb nail scraper perhaps Bronze Age 2150 - 800BC. The flint is yellowish white and appears to have been worked close to the core which would be unusual for a scraper so it may well be debitage although there does appear to be some evidence of retouch.. The length is 28mm and the width 20mm.

Bronze Age flint or more likely chert barbed and tanged arrowhead dating 2150 - 800 BC. The arrowhead has a waxy texture indicating that it is probably chert perhaps local to East Yorkshire and is greyish-brown with evidence of inclusions probably from the original formation processes. The arrowhead is curious in profile it is either incomplete or more likely damaged by ploughing altering the profile. The length is 20mm and the width 16mm.

Worked flint probably a Bronze Age 2150 - 800BC thumbnail scaper worked from close to the core which is unusual. The flint is caramel in colour which is agin unusual for worked flint but maybe explained by a lack of source material in the area hence the necessity of utilising every part of an imported material. The scraper reveals 3 blade scars from the shaping of the tool. There is also minor damage possibly from being knicked by early ploughing in the Iron Age or Medieval period. The length is 25mm and the thickness is 22mm.

A copper object, made from circular-section wire which tapers from about 6mm in diameter at a blunt, squared-off wider end to about 4mm immediately below, then gently tapers to c. 3mm at the curve. It curves around a little over 180 degrees to form a hook which measures in total c. 42mm long by 24mm wide. The tip is pointed and has no barb; there is no hole or eye for attachment at the blunt end. This object is strikingly similar to an object known as a fish hook, now in the British Museum (1989,0601.225), which was apparently found in the 'Batheaston' hoard of Bronze Age and Iron …

An incomplete copper-alloy 'unlooped shield pattern' palstave dating to the middle Bronze Age 1500 - 1150BC from the ActonPark phase metalwork. The axe has a flared cutting edge and would have had a rectangular butt which is now broken with an irregular line suggesting that it was broken in antiquity. The axe has a shield-shaped undecorated hollow located on either side of the stop ridge. The sides of the butt are triangular in plan and there is no stop rib between the stop ridge and raised flange. The axe has a pronounced flare of the blade suggesting that it was broken not too long …
