A complete flint early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead. It is triangular in shape with projecting rounded barbs, both of which are damaged and one largely missing. The central tang is sub-rectangular in shape. Both faces have invasive/covering, scaled, low-angle retouch. The flint is a mid-grey colour with heavy patination. Barbed and tanged arrowheads are characteristic of the Neolithic/early Bronze Age transition to middle Bronze Age period, c.2400-1000 BC. The central tang is largely missing. Both faces have invasive, scaled, low-angle retouch, with an unretouched patch in the centre of each face. The flint is a light, tranlucent colour with limited patination. Barbed and tanged arrowheads are characteristic of the Neolithic/early Bronze Age transition to middle Bronze Age period, c.2400-1000 BC. An incomplete copper alloy probable early Bronze Age arrowhead. It is triangular in shape with a slight barb to the one surviving side of the base. There is a narrow central mid-rib, which expands into a splayed tang at the base. A shiny dark brown patina survives in places, but there is heavy pitting and patches of bright green corrosion. There is significant damage around the edges making the original form difficult to discern in places and it is bent out of shape slightly. Early Bronze Age arrowheads are very rare finds in Britain and very few have been recorded on the PAS datab…

Small, incomplete flint tanged arrowhead of early Bronze Age date. Semi-abrupt to low-angle, covering retouch can be seen on both faces. Both sides of the butt end curve inwards (one side more strongly than the other), creating a central 'tang'. The tip of the arrowhead is missing. There is a small amount of chipping and cracking in places, which appears to have occured following deposition. The flint is mid brown-grey in colour with a shiny patina. Length: 19.18mm, Width: 15.67mm, Thickness: 5.98mm, Weight: 1.7g
