A fragment of a late Bronze Age socketed axe dating to c.1000-800 BC.Only the blade end and part of the socket survives. The blade is expanded and strongly curved. The cutting edge is abraded and notched. Each side curves sharply inwards behind the blade before tapering more gently towards the butt. There are traces of a slight raised rib on the butt end of both sides. The surviving portion of the body is rectangular in cross-section with a hole in the centre, which is all that remains of the socket.
