An incomplete copper-alloy shield of Bronze Age date. It is missing parts of the central boss and surrounding area, as well as most of the handle and small areas of the main body of the shield due to post-depositional damage. Damage to opposing sides of the rim indicate it has at one stage been partially bent or folded, although it is unclear whether this was deliberate or as a result of deposition.
The shield is circular in form, hammered to create a thin disc that in places measures 0.77mm in thickness. The exterior diameter of the rim is approximately 600mm, the rim itself rolle…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An unpatinated struck flint object, probably a knife. It is struck from a dark brown/black flint with small bulb of percussion, hinge fracture at the distal end. It is rectangular in form, oval in cross-section, with a flattened mid-rib that flares towards the rounded end, suggesting this is the butt rather than blade end. The opposite end is incomplete, perhaps due to old breaks or damage in antiquity. Potentially the rounded end may be the result of re-use, although this remains uncertain.
