In September 2011 a Middle Bronze Age hoard comprising of six copper-alloy objects were excavated from the fill of a ditch during archaeological excavation conducted by Archaeological Solutions Ltd at Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk. The find comprised of: two quoit-headed pins, three spiral twisted torcs, a spiral twisted armring/bracelet and a plain penannularbracelet.

Circumstances of Discovery: On the 12th July, two side-looped palstaves, and one socketed hammer were found. The hoard was found on the side of a ditch on pasture land, in North Somerset.

1. Copper alloy side-looped palstave, Transitional Type. The palstave has high petal shaped flanges, and three ribs which run from the centre of the stop ridge, and end approximately a quarter of the way down the blade in a triangular/trident shape, roughly parallel to the end of the side-loop. Dispersed Late Bronze Age hoard.
1. Socketed Axe. Now badly distorted, originally sub-rectangular or hexagonal in section. Prominent moulding around socket, slight moulding below, loop, casting seem along two sides. Irregular and ancient break shortly after start of expansion for (missing) cutting edge. Length (at least) 65mm, socket (external, distorted) 49 x 27mm (internal, distorted) 39 x 16mm.
