Retouched flint flake of Early Bronze Age date. Flint mid-brown, translucent, secondary, a small patch of cortex survivesm. Flake struck using a hard hammer leaving prominent ripple marks and a bulbs of percussion. Retouch limited but short, scaled, abrupt. 34.9 x 19.2 x 4.9mm, Mass 4.01g

Flint scraper of late prehistoric date. Fragment of a light grey, opaque flint cobble, cortex surviving in one area. The cobble was broken by natural agencies and was recorticated before being retouched to form two scraping edges; one a deep notch, the other a crude, straight edge. both were made using short, scaled, abrupt retouch. Both the use of a naturally broken flint and the crudity of the retouch point to a late date. 31.6 x 27.3 x 15.6mm, Mass 16.35g

Neolithic to Iron Age, c. 4000-600BC, retouched flint flake, opaque, mottled white and pale grey tertiary flint, retouch, short, scaled, semi abrupt along one side. Length 32.5mm, Width 18.6mm, Thickness 6.0mm, Mass 3.60g. Other than the retouch the flint shows no other signs of working suggesting that it represents the opportunistic use of a natural flint characteristic of later Prehistory.

Piece of fire-cracked stone, so-called 'pot-boiler', The fragment came from a quartzite cobble which was shattered when heated and dropped into water. Part of the original surface survives and bears traces of crazed cracking, the other faces show a hackly fracture and the rock shows some signs of reddening. Length 42.6mm, Width 42.6mm, Thickness 35.0mm, Mass 68.96g Stones like these were used in the heating of large quantities of water in wooden troughs. They are known from Bronze Age contexts but also occure on Early Medieval sites.

Scraper made from a piece of poor quality flint, white/grey opaque with cortex down one side and showing on one of the faces. Coarse retouch down one side of the ventral face. One end of the flake is squared off with a 1.4mm wide band of very fine, steep (90 degree) retouch.
