Prominent, angular collar at mouth with horizontal moulded ridge below on all sides. Casting flashes at all seams. Patchy, silvery patina indicates a reasonably high tin content. A well-cast and moulded example. L: 129 W. mouth: 38 B. mouth: 46.5 Socket dims.: 27 x 30 W. loop: 5.5-8.5. Part of a hoard of 68 Armorican socketed axeheads.

Complete copper-alloy socketed axe with single loop. Rectangular-sectioned mouth with rounded corners. Straight blade. Prominent single collar at mouth, with moulded horizontal ridge below on front and reverse sides. Upper edge unevenly finished. Circular perforation slightly to the left of and below the loop. Two holes on the opposite side to the loop, due to the thinness of the body in these areas. Very prominent casting sprues remaining on all seams. Width of loop uneven. Cast copper-alloy penannular ring. Triangular-sectioned, with a very pronounced ridge at the apex, an outer diameter of 26mm, an internal diameter of 13mm and with a gap of 3mm between the two terminals. Slight abrasion on the apex. Faint scratch marks all over one surface. Very dark green/black patina on one side; the other side is dark green, mottles with pale green and is preserved in an excellent condition. A flint arrowhead of later Neolithic date, 44.8mm in length, made from a tertiary flake of light grey-brown flint. The arrowhead has a long tapering point, with a single asymmetric pointed barb and a square tang at the proximal / rear end. The opposite side to the remaining barb feathers cleanly but may have started out as a second barb which broke during manufacture.
