A fragmentary and abraded undecorated flat axe of Early Bronze Age date (c. 2200-1900BC). The axe is probably a Migdale type flat axe These are dated to the Early Bronze Age (EBA phase II/III), of metalworking stage IV-VI, which corresponds to Needham's (1996) Period 2-3 c.2250-1900calBC. The flat axe is broadly sub triangular in plan with a narrow butt with side expanding to a splayed crescent shaped blade. In profile the axe is broadly lentoid, with tapering ends. Copper alloy (bronze) casting waste of uncertain date; due to the lack of context and the continuation of casting styles this object could be dated from Bronze Age - Roman period (c. 1500 BC - 450 AD). The casting waste is broadly conical in shape.The base of the object is uneven and rough surface.The other sides of the object are basically smooth and taper to a narrow runner. The spearhead is irregular in plan and profile with an incomplete and abraded narrow blade - possible Davies Type 6 – Developed side loop (Davies 2017). The cross section is lentoid. The hollow socket it damaged and may have been slightly longer when complete. There are two integral side loops, one on either side of the socket, both are damaged and incomplete. The blade of the palstave is sub-triangular in plan, with convex expanding sides, and a convex cutting edge. The blade (measured from the cutting edge to the stop ridge) is 100mm in length. Copper alloy wing flanged axe dating from the Middle Bronze Age (c.1500-1300BC). The axe is complete with an overall length of 117.55mm. The axe has two winged flanges which are sub lozenge in form. The main body of the axe extends above these flanges and terminates with two distinctive hooked terminals at the top of the butt. The butt is 25.12mm wide and 6.90mm thick. A complete cast copper-alloy tanged chisel or leather working knife of Late Bronze Age date (c. 1000-800BC). The chisel has a tapering square-sectioned tang, which abutts the round-sectioned, collared handle stop of the chisel blade. The collar is 12.2mm by 5.2mm. From the collar the chisel blade, which is broadly triangular in plan, flattens in profile and expands to a very thin cutting edge. The cutting edge is 35.5mm wide. Flint flake of possible late Neolithic to early bronze age (c. 2700-1500BC). The flint is a translucent caramel colour with small dark flecks. There is a low crushed bulb of percussion with heavy ripple marks on the ventral face suggesting it was detached with a fairly heavy rock as a hammer.
