Greenish brown flint with cortex spot; scraper. A small thick flake with broad flakes struck from all across its dorsal side and with similar trimming of a bulbar ventral surface; in both cases probably by multangular hard hammer strike. The cortex may have been retained as a butt. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Length: 27mm, Width: 28.5mm, Thickness: 9.9mm, Weight: 8.04gms

Grey flint with cortex scraper. A large oval flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side by multangular hard hammer strike. The ventral surface is smooth and slightly concave. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a part of the curved edge, opposite either a striking platform or a flat butt. Misty patina has developed over all struck surfaces, suggesting the object has endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment after its deposition. Where this is interrupted, it is by slight adventitious impacts. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 B…

Flint with cortex, scraper. A small thick chunk with broad flakes removed from its dorsal side by hard hammer strike and with a flat ventral surface. The thickest end of the chunk has received short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect, producing a broad working face which was subsequently lightly battered. A dense creamy patina overall suggests the object has endured prolonged exposure to a calcareous environment after its deposition. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. Copper alloy axe head fragment. A tiny chip from the end of the cutting edge of a cast axe head, possibly parted from its matrix at the site of a casting flaw. The cutting edge was crescentic with abrupt ends, though too little remains to firmly ascribe this scrap to a particular type. Suggested date: Middle to Late Bronze Age, 1600-800 BC. Copper alloy razor. A flat blade of elongated spade shape with an integral sub-rectangular tang. The object is probably cast, though thinned by sharpening. The cutting edges are slightly curved, as are or were - two being slightly damaged - the angles at the outer edges of blade and tang. The object is flat in section, though if the blade is held between finger and thumb there is a tactile impression of slight thinning towards the edge. The form closely resembles that of NLM-EF1AB4, which is identified as a Middle Bronze Age razor of Piggott Class 1. Suggested date: Middle Bronze Age, …

Grey flint possible arrowhead fragment, as kindly identified by the finder. A thin flake fragment with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a rippled ventral surface. Angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows two converging edges. A straight edge opposite the longest of these is lost to a recent break. The surface bears a pale grey patina suggesting the object has endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. If indeed an arrowhead, the triangular form suspected would ally this to Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age artefacts. Suggested date…
