A complete copper alloy flanged axehead of Later Early Bronze Age (1800-1500 BC). This axehead has a convexly rounded arched butt and slightly diverging parallel sides that abruptly expand to a broad crescentic blade and cutting edge. The blade tips are worn and stop at an angle of just over 45 degrees. Subtle shallow cast flanges extend along the sides, rising very gradually from the butt towards the middle of the axe and sloping down again to the blade expansion. An incomplete flint barbed and tanged arrowhead. This arrowhead was a tertiary flint object but has since completely recorticated. The only area where recortication is not present is at the tips of the barbs which have broken off. The artefact is bifacially worked, the retouch covering one side and being invasive - almost covering - on the other side. On the invasive side just a narrow (2.0mm) length (18.1mm) does not show retouch, the initial longitudinal working of the flint visible through the surrounding retouch. Two Late Bronze Age gold penannular bracelets, in a style similar in appearance to torcs. The smaller of the two bracelets weighs 57.24g. The band forms an open oval shape measuring 69.4mm x 53.1mm. The band has a 'D' shaped cross-section, convex on the outer surface and flat veering to slightly concave on the inner surface. At the centre of the artefact the band measures width 10.6mm x thickness 2.6mm. The bracelet has expanded D-shaped terminals, of c.12.1mm (and 12.2mm) by 8.6mm (and 8.7mm). A tertiary flint scraper. This flint has a subtriangular cross-section with a longitudinal mid ridge along one surface. The opposite side has evidence of a shallow bulb or percussion and very shallow S-shaped profile indicative of soft hammer working. All surfaces are heavily recorticated except for the areas of retouch suggesting that these are evidence of more recent reworking. A primary flint, very late and very crudely made, scraper. A large inclusion occupies approximately half of the inner surface of the flint, which seems to have two hinge fractures along two edges. The most obvious of these has an abrupt near vertical angle although this may account for later damage. The other possible hinge fracture, if it is such, is much more subtle running along the edge of the flint. A tertiary flint, late, scraper. This piece of flint is a pale orangey-brown suggesting that it had been subjected to iron staining and a pale grey shows through on the areas of retouch. The retouch is short, scaled and abrupt. A fragment of fossil or shell impression is present on one side of this object. Weight is 10.43g, length is 44.3mm, width is 34.0mm and thickness is 10.3mm. An incomplete fragment of a copper-alloy (bronze) flanged axe or possibly a palstave of late Early Bronze Age or Middle Bronze Age date (2000-1500 BC). The fragment is rectangular in plan and broadly H shaped in cross section. All that remains of the axe is the tip of the butt which is rounded in shape - a small area of the septum survives and the raised side flanges expand along both edges.
