A fragment of gold strip or bar with a flared terminal. The strip has been coiled with the terminal on the inside. The strip is rectangular in cross section. At one end is a flared, flat-ended, terminal (approximately 4.5 mm thick) which is oval in cross section. At the other the strip has a deliberate angled cut. The strip is flattened from the terminal and expands in width to the cut end. The sides have been raised to create low flanges.
