The object comprises an oval ring with a flat rectangular bar projecting from two moulded-rib terminal ends and resembles a terret in shape. A complete copper-alloy harness fitting terret ring of late Iron Age to Roman date, c.100 BC - AD 100. The terret is of the 'simple' type, comprising an ovate basal strap bar flanked by circular collars. A circular sectioned loop extends to either side of the collars, tapering in diameter to the side opposite the strap bar. The metal has a light green patina and is worn. A worn break to the opposite side represents the remains of a second arm. An expanded disc is present where the arms meet the central boss. A possibly complete copper-alloy ring of late Iron Age to Roman date, c. 100 BC - AD 100. The object is circular in both plan and section with a deep ovate depression to one side. The opposite side is flattened with raised points to either end of the flat portion. The metal has a light green patina and is worn. The object is 17.4mm long, 17.3mm wide, 5.9mm thick and weighs 5.8g. A definite identification for this object could not be made at the time of recording but it is possibly a strap union ring similar to BH-290C70 and HAMP-C3BED8.

A copper alloy simple terret ring daing from the Late Iron Age, to early Roman period, c. 100 BC to AD 100. The terret ring consists of a copper alloy loop which is D-shaped with the straight side missing. There are breaks at either end which display evidence for iron corrosion suggesting a separately cast bar. There are small collars on each end before the breaks. Terret rings were used on carts or chariots and there are several recorded on the PAS database, see BERK-C0DC62 and NLM-11CCF7.
