A very worn, corroded and incomplete 3rd-century copper-alloy Roman radiate of Divus Claudius (II), 'CONSECRATIO' (eagle), (268-70 AD; Reece issue period 13; Cunetio 2877). This coin has suffered a slight circumferential loss and has been neatly pierced at a later date, probably in the early-medieval period. The piercing is at around 3 o'clock on the obverse face and around 11 o'clock on the reverse.
