A worn copper alloy post-medieval farthing trade token issued by Charles Yates of Burford in AD 1664. The obverse depicts three gates (2 over 1) while the reverse bears the initials Y over C H, the H being for Yate's wife (name unknown). Yates is mentioned in the rent-roll of 1685 and was a witness to a lease in 1658 (from J.G Milne 1935). Norweb 3603.

A small copper alloy farthing trade token, very worn. The obverse has a shield with a coat of arms, possibly the tree and three wells denoting the City of Wells in Somerset. The token was found in the same area in Dorset as CORN-435F92, another trade token from Wells. The reverse bears what looks like the letters C W in the centre of the field, possibly under a crown but the edge of the token and its legends are missing. A similar item on the database is dated 1657 (SOM-5477BO) with the same initials and the same token with the crowned letters C W is listed after it in Williamson (196…
