A Roman silver plated copper alloy coin: a plated copy of a denarius of Vespasian, dating from AD 74 (Reece period 4), reverse type PON MAX TR P COS V, depicting Vespasian, seated right on curule chair, with sceptre and branch. Mint of Rome. Reference RIC 2, Part 1 number 702 and see http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.2_1(2).ves.702 The coin is struck slightly of-centre on an oblong flan which is 20.06mm long, 19mm wide and 1.6mm thick.
