A silver Roman denarius of Lucius Verus (AD 161-169), dating to the period c.AD 161-169 (Reece period 8). Probably PROV DEOR TR P [II] COS II reverse type depicting Providentia standing left holding globe and cornucopiae. Prototype of the mint of Rome. This is either a hybrid combining a reverse type of AD 161-163 with a later obverse type, or perhaps a contemporary copy. cf. RIC III, p. 251, no. 463 passim for the reverse type.
