Incomplete copper alloy sestertius of Commodus dated to AD 181. Obverse features the laureate bust of Commodus. The bust is severely worn, but it is possible to identify some of the hair curls and the tassle at the back of the laureate. Reverse features the worn figure of a left facing Annona holding ears of corn in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left hand. The coin has an uneven flan suggesting it has been clipped and on both faces the legends have worn away.

A fragment (approximately one third) of a silver penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-66), 'Expanding Cross', light coinage (North 822), moneyer: Authgrimr (Othgrim; OÐGRIM), mint: Lincoln. Ref: North 1994: 180. The damage to the coin appears to have occurred post deposition as the breaks are not as clean as might be expected from a deliberate cut.
