A silver hammered coin dating from the Early Medieval period, about AD 690-710. A 'porcupine' type sceat of the Intermediate phase, Series E, probably originating in Frisia and dating from about AD 690 - 710. Obverse: degraded bust, resembling a porcupine, right. The head consists of several curved lines terminating in pellets; below the delineated hairline is an annulet, and two vertical bars.
Reverse: a beaded standard, surmounted by a cross and containing symbols which may represent blundered lettering, possibly VICO. There is a central annulet, two right angles formed…
