A worn silver Post Medieval halfpenny of Henry VIII (1509 - 1547 AD) from the Third Coinage (1544 - 1547). The obverse of the coin has a crowned bust facing, with an open crown and narrow hair; the reverse has a long cross with open forked ends and three pellets in each quadrant. Although the weight and diameter indicate this coin is a farthing, the legends are consistent with a halfpenny; this is likely due to the coin being very worn around the outer circumference. It measures 10.8 mm in diameter, 0.6 mm thick and weighs 0.3 g. cf. North No. 1859.
