Obverse description: Facing bare shouldered bust with neck separate from chin, tall bifoliate crown, an annulet above each shoulder. Initial 'roundabout' cross (Withers and Withers 2009, page 35)

Reverse description: Long cross, three pellets in each angle, annulet in diagonally opposed quarters
Reverse inscription: [VIL]/LAxx/CAL/IS

A Medieval silver halfgroat of Henry VI (AD 1422-1461). Long cross annulet issue (North 1429) dating to AD 1422-1427. Minted in Calais. Single saltaire punctuation on obverse and double saltaire punctuation on reverse. Reverse also bears a single annulet after 'POSVI'. North (1991: 74).
Overall dimensions are as follows: 21.01mm in diameter, 0.72mm in thickness and 1.79g in weight.

A complete silver groat of Henry VI's annulet coinage dating to the period AD 1422 to 1427. North number 1424.
The coin has been double struck on the obverse and so the long cross is visible over the bust and the word "MEVM" can be seen in the legend.
