A clipped and worn Medieval silver coin, a penny of the York mint, possibly Edward IV, light coinage, issued under Archbishop George Neville in AD 1466 - 1470. The initial mark is a lis, and there is a quatrefoil at the centre of the reverse. North number 1596 (page 88) probably.  It is 19.3mm long, 18mm wide and 0.5mm thick. It weighs 1.05g.

A silver hammered coin dating from the Post Medieval period: a halfgroat of James I (1603-1625), struck in 1619 - 1620 or later. The coin is a mule. The obverse is third coinage, spur rowel initial mark, North 2127. The reverse has stops so is of the second coinage, North 2105. A third of the coin edge on one side is slightly bent and nibbled. Measurements: Diameter 16.0mm, thickness maximum 1.0mm although the majority of the coin has a thickness of 0.4mm, weight 0.8g.
