A worn complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy halfpenny trade token of Thomas Withers of Arundel dated. AD 1668. Obverse: THOMAS . [WITHERS . IN] = HIS [HA]LF [P]ENY in three lines within a pellet circle.  Reverse: [ARNDELL]IN.SVSEX. = 1668. With one large flower with two small each side, above and below, within a pellet circle.  The token measures 18.63mm diameter, 0.72mm thick and weighs 0.99g. Copper alloy trade tokens were first struck in 1648 in and near London. In 1656 half penny tokens were introduced and they spread to all counties in England, peaking in 1666/7.…
